Brotherhood Crusade is a grassroots organization whose diverse programming aims to support and uplift at-risk youth in South Los Angeles.
Breaking Down Barriers, Securing Success
Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade is deeply committed to the growth and prosperity of South Los Angeles neighborhoods. Since its founding in 1968, by Walter Bremond and others from the Los Angeles Black Congress, the Brotherhood Crusade has served more than 100,000 people. In 2005, Mr. Bremond’s daughter, Charisse Bremond Weaver, assumed the organization’s leadership to preserve and advance her father’s 40-year legacy. Through extensive programming and mentorship, the organization concentrates on education, youth development, domestic violence, financial literacy, health education, and post-employment services. These training programs and community events are designed to address the unmet needs of youth and families living in Los Angeles. Brotherhood Crusade has been nationally recognized for its extremely successful work, including NBA player Stephen Curry who selected the organization as a recipient of charitable donations from the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
