Global in outlook and grounded in the unparalleled collections and expertise of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Academy Museum offers exceptional exhibitions and programs that illuminate the world of cinema and reflect the museum's commitment to developing and presenting cinematic content that educates, enriches, and inspires.
Built in Los Angeles, the film production capital of the world, the Academy Museum is housed in the renovated and expanded May Company building — now the Saban Building — on Wilshire Boulevard. It is the largest museum in the United States devoted to the arts, sciences, and artists of moviemaking. The Academy Museum's seven floors feature: exhibition, gallery, and special-event spaces; the Shirley Temple Education Studio, which hosts workshops and learning opportunities for all visitors; and two theaters presenting year-round screenings, film series, panel discussions, and member and family programming that illuminate the artistic and cultural contributions of an international selection of movie artists.
