Art is Integral to a Free Society

American Federation of Arts

The American Federation of Arts organizes traveling exhibitions, featuring artists from periods and cultures from around the world. Works for the traveling exhibitions are borrowed from the collections of museums, universities, corporations, artists, and collectors, which allows institutions that could otherwise not afford the same quality and scope of art, to present world-class exhibitions to their patrons. Through touring art exhibitions, publishing exhibition catalogues featuring important scholarly research, and developing educational programs, the American Federation of Arts provides greater access to art, creating an integral part of a strong and free society with exhibitions including, For America: Paintings from the National Academy of Design, Buddha and Shiva, Lotus and Dragon: Masterworks from the Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection at Asia Society, and Henry Moore: Surrealism to Humanism.
