Founded in 1979, the Center for Contemporary Arts Santa Fe (CCA) is one of the oldest artist-centered organizations in the American Southwest, an art space and cinematheque offering original exhibitions, films, and performances that are pertinent, provocative, and inspirational. With more than 55,000 visitors annually, CCA enriches the lives of the citizens of northern New Mexico through exhibitions, independent films, performances, and educational programs, while creating a community between artists and patrons. The CCA provides opportunities and a gathering space for people of all ages to discover art, film, dance, music, and performance in Santa Fe, while supporting emerging and established artists.
In 2017, CCA, along with GRoW @ Annenberg, helped Dr. Sara Aroeste – art critic, professor, scholar and curator – publish the book El Taller del Artista:
"El Taller del Artista presents 25 of the most renowned artists' studios in different cities of Mexico. In the journey of visiting artists' ateliers, Dr. Aroeste discovered the magic of the spaces where the inspiration and creativity are masterfully translated into art pieces. This publication emphasizes the space, light, and intimate corners full of paintings, brushes, and materials as a tribute to the highly recognized Mexican artists' commitments and as appreciation for what the art world has earned from them."
