Festival Lyrique International de Belle-Ile-En-Mer

Belle-Ile, which translates to "beautiful island," is Brittany's largest island and was once home to an artist colony where, in the 1800's, Claude Monet and John Russell resided. Each year since 1998, the island has welcomed esteemed musicians and dedicated patrons from across the globe to experience the Festival Lyrique International de Belle-Ile-En-Mer. The festival's impressive concerts specifically showcase some of the world's most renowned opera composers and performers. In more than two decades, the festival has featured performances from the Royal Opera House, Paris Opera, Metropolitan Opera, La Scala in Milan, and more. In addition to the annual summer festival, Lyrique-En-Mer partners with local schools in Belle-Ile to host year-round concerts and music education programming.
