Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF) offers access to exceptional art, arts programming, and scholarly work through the de Young and the Legion of Honor. Established in 1895, the de Young focuses on American art from the 17th century to present day, textile arts and costumes, and artwork from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. Opened in 1924, the Legion of Honor exhibits ancient and European painting, sculpture, and decorative arts spanning more than 4,000 years of history and preserves one of the country's largest collections of prints and drawings. Combined, the de Young and the Legion of Honor make up one of the largest museums in the country, educating and inspiring visitors through art created in San Francisco and around the world.
