Since 1852, the Victoria and Albert Museum has undergone major transformations, evolving from a Museum of Manufactures to a leading art and design museum admired around the world. Today, the V&A is host to more than 5,000 years of human artistic expression, spanning across centuries, continents, and mediums. Not only does the museum house extraordinary artistic creations, but the buildings that make up the V&A are some of Britain's most acclaimed architectural feats. In addition to permanently housing 2.3 million objects, the museum has displayed countless innovative and multidisciplinary exhibitions over the last 170 years.
