Since 1852, the Victoria and Albert Museum has undergone major transformations, evolving from the Museum of Manufactures to a leading art and design museum. Today, the V&A is host to more than 5,000 years of human artistic expression, spanning centuries, continents, and mediums, housed in several architectural marvels. In addition to permanently safeguarding 2.3 million objects, the museum has displayed countless innovative and multidisciplinary exhibitions over the last 170 years.

In 2025, V&A will unveil two free cultural sites, V&A East Storehouse and V&A East Museum, in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Billed as a "unique new museum experience opening up the V&A collection to everyone," the V&A East Storehouse will be the new home to more than 250,000 objects, 1,000 archival collections, and 350,000 library books that had been housed in Blythe House. The nearby V&A East Museum will explore and celebrate "making and creativity's power to bring change."
