CITYarts is a New York-based organization that engages youth with professional artists in the creation of public art for their communities.

Engaging a New Generation of Visionaries

CITYarts

CITYarts' goal is to turn young people into active, transformative participants within their own communities. The organization does this by connecting youth with professional artists to create murals, mosaics, and other forms of public art. Through this creative process, CITYarts inspires young people by engaging them with their surrounding community and connecting them with other young artists.

CITYarts' four New York-based youth programs include: Community Identity, which encourages youth to envision better futures for their neighborhoods and revitalize them; Global HeART Warming, which produces murals that incorporate climate change concerns; Kids for Justice, which allows youth to consider the role of art in pursuing justice and social responsibility; and Windows of Opportunity, which connects exceptionally talented youth to prestigious arts institutions and programs. Additionally, CITYarts runs a global project called Young Minds Build Bridges – a program that connects New York youth with young people around the world through arts education workshops, exhibits, and murals.
