Each year, the Mooresville Graded School District (MGSD) provides high-quality, technologically advanced education to approximately 6,000 students between kindergarten and 12th grade. MGSD is nationally recognized for its Digital Conversion initiative, in which all students between kindergarten and second grade have access to laptop and iPad carts at school, third graders receive personal laptops for use at school, and fourth through 12th grade students receive a MacBook to be used at school and at home. Further, all classrooms are equipped with SmartBoards to be used during class lessons. Because of this innovative program – along with their top-notch faculty – MGSD continuously produces impressive academic outcomes and encourages students to participate in volunteer and work opportunities outside of the classroom. In June 2013, President Barack Obama visited Mooresville Middle School and spoke about the importance of intertwining technological advances into diverse academic and professional sectors of society.
