Founded by entrepreneur George Pepperdine in 1937, Pepperdine University was originally located in downtown Los Angeles. In the following decades, the university's enrollment and offerings expanded, leading to the creation of its current Malibu campus. Today, the university offers 73 programs across five graduate and undergraduate schools, oversees five satellite campuses in California and several international campuses, and is recognized for its comprehensive degree programs, outstanding athletics, and, of course, its stunning oceanside setting in Malibu. Outside the classroom, Pepperdine University encourages students to cultivate professional and interpersonal skills in real-world settings, and nearly 85 percent of students take advantage of student employment, teaching, and internships.
