The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art performing arts center in Beverly Hills, named after the great philanthropist, Wallis Annenberg. From 1933 to 1998, this space housed the Beverly Hills Post Office, which was constructed through the Work Projects Administration during the Great Depression and was widely considered to be a historic location. Following the closing of the Beverly Hills Post Office, Wallis Annenberg worked for over a decade to preserve the historic location with a vision of transforming it into a world-class performing arts center. The purpose of The Wallis is to bridge the gap between audiences and world-class performances, as well as to use art as a vehicle for understanding and grappling with complex social issues.
