Boston Preservation Alliance

The Boston Preservation Alliance was founded in 1978 as a loose coalition of 25 organizations committed to protecting the architectural character that makes Boston unique. Using advocacy and education, the alliance brings together people and organizations to influence the future of the historic buildings, landscapes, and communities that define the city. While the organization is deeply committed to preserving history, it also recognizes the importance of growth and development, advocating for a balance between the old and the new. Through lectures, walking tours, strong relationships with local media, the Boston Preservation Alliance provides an independent voice concerned with maintaining Boston's heritage.
