Habitat for Humanity

Founded in 1976, the international nonprofit organization is devoted to building simple and affordable housing for low-income families all over the world.

Bringing Families Home

Habitat for Humanity

Over the last 45 years, Habitat for Humanity and its 2 million vounteers have helped almost 40 million people build or improve their homes. The organization works in nearly 1,400 communities across the United States and in about 70 countries around the world. To be eligible, families in need of safe, affordable housing must communicate their level of need and willingness to partner with Habitat during the building process, and they must demonstrate their ability to pay a mortgage.

Habitat for Humanity also renovates existing homes, helps people to repair their own homes, and works with local communities to supply emergency housing for people affected by natural disasters.
