Created in 2008, this not-for-profit organization provides the city with additional funding to complete projects that align with its mission to "enhance, expand, preserve and promote public recreation, parks and open space for the people of Los Angeles." This goal encompasses a variety of programs and initiatives, with an emphasis on efforts to increase recreational capital, beautify community landscapes, develop environmental investments, and encourage citizens to live healthier, happier lives through use of city parks.
