Nurturing a Passion for Nature

National Park Foundation

Chartered by Congress in 1967, the National Park Foundation (NPF) works to preserve the country's national parks and historically significant sites across the United States. As part of its mission, the National Park Foundation is deeply committed to broadening visitor access to national parks. Through signature initiatives including Every Kid in a Park (EKIP) and SAMO Youth, NPF respectively provides free access to national parks for fourth-grade students and their families, and a youth-mentoring program that offers high school students from park-deficient areas of Los Angeles the opportunity to work as "junior rangers" for two consecutive summers, creating opportunities for future internships and jobs.
