In the century since its founding, the LA Phil has become a major cultural institution. Today, the LA Phil is led by world-renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel and performs approximately 250 concerts at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. The Philharmonic's unique repertoire blends traditional, foundational compositions with contemporary music. In addition to live musical performances, the LA Phil offers extensive community-based programming. In 2018, the LA Phil announced the opening of a new center in the Los Angeles community of Inglewood to house its signature Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) program. Each year, YOLA trains more than 1,000 students from traditionally underserved communities in L.A. The LA Phil's Resident Fellows Program offers established musicians serving or representing underserved communities with opportunities for professional advancement. Through its dynamic performances and strategic programming, the LA Phil strives to transform lives and communities through the power of live music.
