Championing the Creative Spirit

LA Phil

Founded in 1919, the LA Phil is an essential part of the cultural landscape of Los Angeles — and beyond. Led by world-renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the LA Phil performs or presents 250 concerts each year at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, and its unique repertoire blends traditional, foundational compositions with contemporary music.

In addition to live musical performances, the LA Phil offers extensive educational and community-outreach programming. This includes the Resident Fellows program, which offers giftedearly-career symphonic musicians representing underserved communities opportunities for professional advancement, and YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles), which provides youth from the ages of 5 through 18 with free instruments, lessons, and performing opportunities on local and international stages. Through its dynamic performances and strategic programming, the LA Phil strives to transform lives and communities through the power of extraordinary music.
