A museum for the future, the Natural History Museum strives to challenge the way people think about the natural world by creating an environment to develop an understanding of science. Currently, species and ecosystems are being destroyed at an alarming rate, placing resources that modern society relies upon under threat. By caring for more than 80 million specimens spanning billions of years in their state-of-the-art facilities, the Natural History Museum encourages discovery and offers education to provide the skills to protect our planet for future generations. The Museum's ambitious renovation of its outdoor spaces will help create a place for the more than five million annual visitors to enjoy their experience, be inspired to make changes in their own lives, and even help change the world.
