Since 1982, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization has provided area families in need with innovative and comprehensive support. Through its Holiday Program, Scholars Program, Family Assistance Program, and summer camp, the organization meets the day-to-day needs of struggling families and assists them in achieving their long-term dreams.

Supporting Struggling Families

One Voice

One Voice is dedicated to supporting families in crisis by providing preventative relief to circumvent the cycle that too often ends in homelessness and hunger. The Family Assistance Program specifically provides this support to low-income families in Los Angeles with young children. Through the emergency relief branch of Family Assistance, One Voice supports more than 500 of these families through crises every year by providing food, rent, medical expenses, and other critically needed resources.

One Voice Scholars Program helps to lift 150 students from poverty each year through higher education. Students are selected during their junior year of high school to begin a comprehensive program that lasts five years. During this time, they receive assistance and emotional support through the entirety of the college process, from applying to enrollment and beyond. Since the founding of this program, 100 percent of the students have been admitted to four-year colleges and 92 percent of them have graduated.
