Art Under Open Sky

Storm King Art Center

Since its founding in 1960 by the late Ralph E. Ogden and H. Peter Stern, the Storm King Art Center provides an outdoor cultural experience that creates a vibrant bond between art, nature, and people. Created in a place where discovery is limitless, it is here that artists are able to connect with visitors through their most ambitious works and programs. Visitors are given the opportunity to enjoy and explore art in dramatic landscapes – farmed fields, natural woodlands, lawns, native grasses, wetlands, and water – either by foot or bicycle. Continuously changing exhibitions, programming, and seasons offer new discoveries with every visit through engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and special events, while helping conserve modern and contemporary art.
