Based in Los Angeles, the Getty serves as one of the art world's leading institutions, with a presence that stretches across the globe. Over the years, we have provided support to expand the accessibility and reach of the Getty's exhibits and programs.

An Artistic Legacy Across the Globe

J. Paul Getty Trust

Established in 1953, the Getty's numerous artistic programs were constructed in the legacy of businessman and art collector J. Paul Getty. What is often called "the Getty" is comprised of four key programs, including the J. Paul Getty Museum Trust, the Getty Foundation, the Getty Conservation Institute, and the Getty Research Institute. Together, these institutions have paved the way for the preservation, restoration, and increased exposure to world-class, historically-relevant artwork both in Los Angeles and across the globe. The Getty Museum is housed in two iconic, world-renowned locations: the Getty Center in Brentwood, California, and the Getty Villa in Malibu, California. From viewing famous artwork at these two locations, to gaining access to cutting-edge knowledge through the Research Institute, to receiving funding through the Foundation, the Getty institution serves as a driving force in centralizing artistic heritage in the lives of learners of all ages and levels.
