An Artistic Legacy Across the Globe

J. Paul Getty Trust

The Getty's numerous artistic programs were established in 1953 to honor the legacy of businessman and art collector J. Paul Getty. What is commonly called the Getty is composed of four key programs: the J. Paul Getty Museum Trust, the Getty Foundation, the Getty Conservation Institute, and the Getty Research Institute. Together, these institutions have paved the way for the preservation, restoration, and increased exposure to exceptional, historically relevant artwork in Los Angeles and across the globe. The Getty Museum is housed in two iconic locations in Southern California: the Getty Center in Brentwood and the Getty Villa in Malibu. With its world-class artwork, cutting-edge educational programs, and innovative grantmaking, the Getty champions artists all over the world and a love of art in people of all ages and backgrounds.
