Since the 1920s, the Annenberg Community Beach House property has served as a vibrant cultural and artistic hub, in the heart of oceanfront Santa Monica. Originally privately owned, the property was revitalized, following damage incurred during the 1994 Northridge earthquake, with the assistance of the Annenberg Foundation and the leadership of its Chairman, CEO and President Wallis Annenberg. With this revitalization, the property was transformed into a sustainable, accessible, public recreational center complete with a beachside pool, classes, and community events.
In addition to its beautiful public pool, the Beach House offers group activities, including beach volleyball, yoga, and paddle-boarding. The property is also host to countless conferences, weddings, parties, and social events throughout the year. Not only is the Beach House a source of joy and liveliness for families from all over the world, it is also widely recognized for its innovative leadership in sustainability. The property has been recognized with a Gold LEED rating from the U.S. Green Building Council and is constantly making improvements to increase environmental efficiency.
