Breaking Down Barriers, Securing Success

Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade

The Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade was founded in 1968 by activist Walter Bremond and fellow members of the Los Angeles Black Congress to promote the growth and prosperity of South Los Angeles neighborhoods. In 2005, Bremond's daughter, Charisse Bremond Weaver, assumed the organization's leadership to preserve and advance her father's legacy of helping children and families in need. Today, the Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade serves more than 25,000 community residents every year through extensive programming and mentorship, focusing on education, youth development, domestic violence, financial literacy, health education, and post-employment services. Brotherhood Crusade has been nationally recognized for its work, including by NBA standout Stephen Curry, who selected the organization to receive charitable donations from the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
