Since 1982, the Cancer Support Community Los Angeles (CSCLA), formerly the Wellness Community, has helped tens of thousands of Los Angeles residents — in addition to millions around the world affected by cancer — with its free services.

Offering Hope in Times of Need

Cancer Support Community Los Angeles

Beginning as a small grassroots organization more than 40 years ago, CSCLA has a formidable presence with 50-plus locations and 125 hospital partnerships and satellites around the world. Founder Dr. Harold H. Benjamin's Patient Empowerment Model advocates for patients and families to partner with their physicians, take control of their healthcare, and be an active f in the health care process. Among CSCLA's cost-free programs are: support groups and counseling; healthy lifestyle classes; social activities; educational workshops; and child, teen and family programs. Thanks to the Cancer Support Community's global efforts, these services are now considered to be an integral part of quality cancer care.

CSCLA also amplifies the patient's voice in research and policy and advocates for cancer-care equity, supporting the Spanish-speaking communities in downtown and West Los Angeles, the under-resourced communities of Arlington Heights and its environs, and other individuals in greater Los Angeles who are impacted by the high costs of cancer.
