International Medical Corps - the Caribbean
We are supporting international disaster relief efforts led by the International Medical Corps (IMC) in the Caribbean. In light of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, which struck in September, 2017 and caused widespread damage, IMC is providing relief across the region out of Barbados and Antigua. This relief is multifaceted – spanning from providing medical supplies and medication, to psychosocial services, to distributing hygiene kits. Additionally, the organization is operating in northern Haiti to respond to cholera outbreaks with mobile medical clinics, following devastating rainfall that befell the island during Hurricane Irma.
International Medical Corps – Mexico
We are providing additional international support for recovery and relief efforts in Mexico, following two deadly earthquakes which struck the country during September, 2017. In the wake of the 8.1 and 7.1 magnitude earthquakes which occurred merely twelve days apart, the International Medical Corps has partnered with local relief organizations to assess the full depth of damages incurred and assess the most urgent unmet needs. These needs comprise some of the most basic services, including but not limited to: water, sanitation, health care, and mental health support.
