Neuroendocrine Cancer UK (NCUK) – formerly known as Living with Carcinoid and then as NET Patient Foundation – was founded in 2002 to meet the specific needs of neuroendocrine cancer patients and their loved ones. At the root of its mission, the organization offers holistic support and resources to those recently diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancers (formerly known as carcinoids in the medical community). NCUK also works to expand access to the best possible treatments and care, and to support advances in research to determine the root cause of neuroendocrine cancers, identify better treatment options, and to find a potential cure. Further, NCUK advocates for patients by partnering with healthcare professionals and policy officials to increase public awareness and by influencing national strategies and approaches to all cancers. Through this critically important work the organization moves toward a vision of the future in which neuroendocrine cancer patients and their loved ones possess a full understanding of the disease and have access to equitable treatment and a supportive community.
