United Way of Greater Los Angeles seeks to meet the needs of low-income families, veterans, students, and the homeless – some of the most vulnerable communities in Los Angeles. Through a combination of programming and advocacy, the organization constructs personalized pathways out of poverty and works to dismantle the systems that sustain such poverty. United Way's work centers on reforming education, ending homelessness, and establishing financial stability as the key tenets to exiting poverty. Education programming provides high school students with the support necessary to successfully graduate and pursue higher education. Large-scale events, such as United Way's annual Los Angeles HomeWalk, have enabled immense progress in the fight to reduce homelessness across the City, while United Way partnerships connect low-income families and veterans with assistance programs and resources to achieve financial stability. Through this strategic web of resources, United Way of Greater Los Angeles seeks to create long-term, widespread change that addresses complex issues.
