Orchestrating Masterful Musicianship

Kronos Performing Arts Association

In 1973, musicians David Harrington, John Sherba, Hank Dutt, and Sunny Yang joined forces to create the Kronos Quartet. Since then, Kronos has risen to stardom and has become one of the most well-renowned string quartets of our time. The Kronos Performing Arts Association (KPAA) oversees all aspects of Kronos' work, including recording, touring and concerts, educational programming, and fundraising. In addition to performing over 75 concerts each year, Kronos offers masterclasses, classroom visits, benefit performances, and coaching sessions. The group often collaborates with composers and performers ranging from the San Francisco Girls Chorus to Paul McCartney. In this diverse work, Kronos works with students ranging from elementary school to young professionals, and audiences from both urban and rural communities.
