Championing Conservation Through the Lens of Christianity

A Rocha

A Rocha, meaning "the Rock" in Portuguese, was founded in Portugal in 1983. Today, A Rocha has established a network of community-based environmental organizations in 20 countries. A Rocha spearheads cooperative conservation projects that rely on a network of community-based, cross-cultural organizations, all within the ethos of Christianity's belief that humans are obligated to take care of the Earth. These projects offer a broad range of services including ecological monitoring and research in biologically rich and diverse regions, environmental education and community outreach, and preservation of natural habitats.
