New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness

In 1985, acclaimed homegrown musicians Allen Toussaint and Aaron Neville founded New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness (NOAHH). The organization's original vision was to organize a concert with New Orleans artists to benefit food-insecure and unhoused residents. The greater New Orleans region has historically struggled with high levels of hunger, poverty, and homelessness, and since its founding, NOAHH has worked to address these complex challenges by harnessing the power of music. World-renowned artists such as Huey Lewis, Joni Mitchell, and Quincy Jones have volunteered their time and talent to participate in NOAHH's critical programming. In addition to staging benefit concerts, galas, and celebrity mixers, NOAHH has partnered with and distributed grants to more than 50 organizations that provide food and shelter year-round for those in need.
