Awakening Artistic Potential in the City that Never Sleeps

New York University Tisch School of the Arts

The Tisch School of the Arts was established at New York University (NYU) in 1965 to provide conservatory-style training in theater and film. Within a few years, Tisch rapidly established its place as one of the best in the nation, expanding its departments to include dance, theater design and lighting, and cinematic studies. Today, students can obtain a BA, BFA, MA, MFA, MPS, or PhD in more than 15 diverse areas of study, including dance, musical theater, public policy, dramatic writing, and game design.

Students are admitted through a rigorous and comprehensive application process. Upon enrolling at Tisch, students join a community of renowned professional artists and scholars that make up its faculty and alumni. Further, from the school's location in lower Manhattan, students are exposed to and have the opportunity to intern at some of the world's most renowned arts institutions. This immersive educational experience has solidified Tisch as one of the highest-ranked arts institutes in the nation.
