National Jazz Museum in Harlem

The National Jazz Museum in Harlem was established in 1997 as a Smithsonian Institution Affiliate. In 2015, the Museum moved from its original East Harlem location to Central Harlem, where it currently offers varied and immersive programming. Each year, the Museum's programs reach over 20,000 people from across the globe. Activities include live performances, educational programming, and exhibitions. The Museum is also home to the acclaimed Savory Collection – over 100 hours of New York City radio broadcasts featuring live performances by key jazz figures between 1935 and 1941. The Museum seeks not only to inspire a widespread appreciation for jazz but also to elevate Harlem's role in artistic and cultural innovation.
