The Obama Foundation was established by former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in 2014. Located on Chicago's South Side, next to the site of the Obama Presidential Center, the Foundation's initiatives champion leadership, equity, education, and opportunity. These initiatives include the My Brother's Keeper Alliance, the Obama Foundation Fellowship, Girls Opportunity Alliance, Leaders: Africa, Community Leadership Corps, the Obama Foundation Scholars Program, and Community Leadership Training Day. Further, the Foundation hosts an annual Summit, which convenes leaders from across the United States and the globe to collaboratively explore solutions to some of the world's greatest challenges. Through these varied programs, the Obama Foundation seeks to carry on Chicago's vast legacy of powerful community leadership and engagement.
