BroadStage, named for philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, opened in 2008 to the public in collaboration with Santa Monica College. With a capacity of just over 500 seats, BroadStage is simultaneously grand and more intimate than most performance spaces of such high caliber, allowing guests in the theater's rear seats to still maintain a clear view of artists on stage. In fulfillment of its mission to expand the role of arts in our communities, BroadStage offers world-class seasons with performances in dance, film, theatre, jazz, opera, film, and more. In addition, its Education & Community Programs welcome 15,000 children, parents, educators, and community members each year through events designed to diversify and make more accessible exposure to the arts.
