The Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) was founded in 1987 to promote collective impact by connecting donors to community members and important causes. The foundation is committed to investing in the future through scholarships, grantmaking, and collaborative partnerships.
Although its funding portfolio is diverse, VCFF operates several focused projects, including the Caregiving Initiative and Transfer of Wealth in Ventura County report. The Caregiving Initiative was created in response to the county's shifting age demographics to develop an infrastructure for reliable, affordable, long-term care for older adults. The Transfer of Wealth in Ventura County report examines the far-reaching effects of wealth accumulation and the role that philanthropy can play in transforming the region's future at the systemic level. Since 2015, donors have granted more than $110 million through VCCF to support community projects that have benefitted 9,500 nonprofit organizations, local businesses, and students.
