Attracting International Audiences to Experience Contemporary Art

Festival d'Automne à Paris

The Festival d'Automne à Paris was established in 1972 to showcase the work of contemporary artists from across the world. In the decades since its founding, the festival has held steadfast in its mission to present the work of artists in such a way that promotes faithfulness, openness, and discovery. Each September through December, the Festival d'Automne à Paris – with no specific venue of its own – partners with major cultural institutions throughout Paris and the island of Île-de-France to present nearly 50 events and welcome approximately 250,000 visitors. Further, the festival is strategically diverse: it consistently features performing arts pieces from countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South America. Additionally, every year since 2012, the festival has dedicated portraits to outstanding figures from nations across the globe. Through this multi-disciplinary and international approach, the Festival d'Automne à Paris brings people together through the inspirational power of the contemporary arts.
