Investing in Innovative Approaches to Learning and Literacy

Hawthorne School District

Founded in 1907, the Hawthorne School District is composed of seven elementary schools, three middle schools, and one charter high school. The district aims to foster academic success through a team of dedicated educators, engaged parents, and eager students that stresses empowerment.

Since 2015, the Hawthorne School District has partnered with Footsteps2Brilliance, an innovative digital early literacy platform that aims to accelerate student achievement. The platform, which merges mobile-game technology with cognitive research, can be used on all Apple and Android phones and tablets. Through this partnership, students and families with young children receive free use of Footsteps2Brilliance mobile apps in both English and Spanish, affording them access to hundreds of books, songs, and learning activities.
