Protecting Civil Rights and Advancing Equity for Communities of Color

Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles

Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles (Advancing Justice - LA) serves over 15,000 individuals each year through its legal services which include COVID-19 relief and anti-Asian discrimination efforts as urgent priorities. For its diverse AANHPI communities, the organization provides impact litigation, policy advocacy, leadership development, and capacity building support.

Founded in 1983, the organization has been a leader in social justice and continues to be a strong voice for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Advancing Justice-LA works with the most vulnerable members of ethnic enclave communities while pursuing laws and public policies that ensure their well-being. The organization prioritizes services for low-income, limited-English proficient, and/or immigrants that require aid for anti-Asian discrimination, citizenship and immigration issues, domestic violence and family law, housing rights support, healthcare navigation, and education. Through these programs and services, Advancing Justice - LA protects the rights of communities of color, builds multiracial coalitions, and works to shape a more equitable American society.

Advancing Justice - LA is based in downtown Los Angeles, with additional offices in Orange County and Sacramento. It is part of a network of affiliated organizations in Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, DC.
