Opening Doors, Closing Disparities in Opportunity

LA Promise Fund

LA Promise Fund's vision is to close the opportunity gap for students in South Los Angeles and beyond. Its approach is unique and multifaceted: LA Promise Fund partners with public schools in the Los Angeles region, working closely with students and administrators to elevate every level of student success. At these schools, LA Promise Fund operates several programs, including Go To College, which helps to foster a schoolwide college-going culture and works to expand access to higher education through counseling, student ambassadors, an annual college fair, and visits to two- and four-year campuses.

Further, Promise Parents staffs each school with a community/parent representative who works to reduce barriers to parent engagement. In addition to other in-school services — involving before- and after-school activities as well as health and wellness — LA Promise Fund provides an array of key programs throughout L.A. County. From connecting high school students to internships, cultivating interest in biology and biotechnology, and expanding arts education, LA Promise Fund's wraparound services support the academic, emotional, physical, and social needs of both the child and the family.
