Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston was founded in 1870 and opened to the public on July 4, 1876, in commemoration of the country's centennial. Today, the MFA is home to extraordinary art; its 500,000 objects include one of the world's finest collections of Egyptian masterpieces, the largest holding of Japanese artwork outside of Japan, and storied American art that fills a four-story wing added to the museum in 2010.

The museum welcomes more than 1 million visitors per year to experience its eclectic collection, special exhibits, and innovative educational programs. The MFA educates future artists through its diverse collection, special exhibitions, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. In 2016, the school partnered with Tufts University to ensure that artistic appreciation and preservation continue to be offered at the professional level for future generations.
