Exhibition at National Museum of Women in the Arts Challenges Conventional Gender Ideas

Inspired by 1972's pioneering feminist art installation Womanhouse by Judy Chicago and Miriam Schapiro, Women House features photography, sculpture, installation, and video works by 36 artists across the globe, including Chicago, Shapiro, Louise Bourgeois, Mona Hatoum, Zanele Muholi, Leticia Parente, Martha Rosler, Cindy Sherman, Laurie Simmons, Rachel Whitread, and Francesca Woodman. The exhibition showcases the highly varied works of female creators who are challenging societal notions about women and the domestic space.
