V&A presents Frida Kahlo: Making Herself Up

The exhibition illuminates the fascinating life of the groundbreaking Mexican painter and features more than 200 objects that have never before been displayed outside of Mexico.

Frida Kahlo: Making Herself Up pays tribute to one of the world's most recognizable artists, who was known for her captivating self-portraits and use of striking colors. The exhibition showcases items from her wardrobe, personal accessories, make-up, and paintings of her own clothing. This collection was locked away for decades after her death in 1954 and is now making its debut outside of her homeland for the first time.
