42nd Annual Simon Rodia Watts Towers Jazz Festival on September 30th

In 2018, GRoW commissioned the creation of a sculpture of Simon Rodia by Watts Towers Arts Center artist-in-residence Charles Dickson.  Simon Rodia constructed the Watts Towers over the course of 33 years, and the sculpture of him will be displayed on the grounds of the towers.  

The sculpture will be unveiled in September at the 42nd Annual Simon Rodia Watts Towers Jazz Festival, which GRoW is also supporting.  The Jazz Festival is the only free event of its kind in Los Angeles, and each year it welcomes performances by musicians who have a personal connection to Watts.
