On February 10, 2020, the New York Philharmonic presented the second concert of the three-part GRoW @ Annenberg SOUND ON Series. Leading Voices was commissioned in conjunction with the New York Phil's initiative Project 19, a multi-season centennial celebration of the 19th Amendment that granted women the right to vote in the United States.

Leading Voices featured works by leading voice and instrumental composers and serve as a platform for the immense musical contributions made by women throughout history. Like all SOUND ON concerts, Leading Voices was performed by New York Philharmonic musicians and hosted at Jazz at Lincoln Center's The Appel Room, overlooking Central Park.
