Loving Hands Hosts 13th Annual Mother's Day Healing Luncheon for Grieving Mothers
Learn More
Featuring inspirational speakers, musical performers, poetry, and a raffle, this special event recognizes mothers who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a child and offers a soothing and supportive space for women to gather together for reflection, comfort, and inspiration. Loving Hands Community Care founder and executive director Kathy Wooten, who is a lifelong resident of the Watts community, started the luncheon after the deaths of her two oldest sons in 2008. Her commitment and focus on healing and restoration reminds grieving mothers and their family members that they are part of a community that cares for them and can provide support during a difficult and challenging holiday.
Wooten will serve as host of this year's event, and Reverend James M. Lawson Jr. — a civil rights activist and university professor — will provide the opening invocation and closing player. To learn more about the Mother's Day Healing Luncheon, visit the Loving Hands website.
