LA Opera's Song Returns to the Stage With the Magic and Music of a Full Performance Season

The magic of music and live performance returns to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion as LA Opera prepares for a complete season of staged productions with a theater filled with audience members turning to the place "where the music won't stop." LA Opera reopens its doors on Saturday, September 18, for the first time in a year and a half and showcases such in a wonderfully creative video short here narrated by inimitable Angela Bassett.

Since 1986, LA Opera has devoted itself to preserving and presenting this quintessential musical art form to contribute to the diversified landscape of the creative Los Angeles community. Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will be live once again – providing an unforgettable experience and place of solace for the community in this time of need to inspire, heal, and nurture all listeners with the catharsis of music. After closing its doors for many months due to the pandemic, LA Opera returns with its 2021/22 season with performances filled with drama, passion, and of course, glorious music. As the LA Opera welcomes its new board chair, Keith Leonard, acclaimed music director and Verdi master, James Conlon, returns to inaugurate the season with Il Trovatore, a quintessential thriller filled with passionate love, family quarrels, and deadly revenge. "GRoW is honored to be an enthusiastic supporter of the LA Opera over the years," says LA Opera board member Régina Weingarten, "and we are thrilled to welcome people back to Join Our Song."
