Essential Community Health Clinics Step Up Vaccination Efforts in Pandemic

As the COVID-19 Delta variant continues to spread throughout Los Angeles County, GRoW supports vaccine distribution in two communities hit especially hard by the pandemic.

When the COVID-19 crisis emerged in early 2020, the Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) became a central testing and care provider in L.A.'s northeast Valley. In late 2020, NEVHC began to distribute vaccines to its patients first and then to residents of the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, which were disproportionately affected by the pandemic. In early 2021, the health care provider expanded vaccination efforts at its sites and mobile clinics. In addition, NEVHC partnered with local and county officials to create bilingual advertising campaigns focused on dispelling myths about the COVID-19 vaccine and encouraged those who are vaccine-hesitant to begin conversations with their medical providers.

Today, NEVHC offers vaccination and testing services across its 17 sites for patients and community members alike while hosting community events such as a back-to-school vaccination drive. As a trusted community health partner and provider, NEVHC plays a critical role in the health and wellness of many in-need area residents.
