Elevating Black-Founded Nonprofit Organizations
Learn More
Since 2012, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, known as "Giving Tuesday," has been recognized as a global generosity movement that encourages people and organizations to donate to charity and non-profit organizations after shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday promotes generosity and unites various groups and individuals around the concept of philanthropic giving and its power to transform communities.
As Giving Tuesday 2021 approaches, Give Blck remains focused on highlighting Black-founded and Black-led nonprofits seeking donations while encouraging large foundations, philanthropists, investment firms, and individuals to identify and support those organizations. To support this commitment, Give Blck is sharing the #ClosingTheGivingGap checklist. The checklist is designed as a set of questions that challenges donors to think critically about addressing the racial giving gap in the philanthropic space while aligning support and donations with Black-founded nonprofits, which are disproportionately underfunded compared with their White-founded counterparts. GRoW is honored to support Give Blck, whose expanded database now includes 600 Black-founded nonprofit organizations. Giving Tuesday provides an ideal opportunity to contribute to these organizations that prioritize needs in local communities.
